Cowboy in Grand Canyon
On my trip, I wasn't really expecting to end up at the Grand Canyon. I'd picked my friend up and our plan was that we'd do a road trip and then I'd drop him off at his family's place and be on my way. They were very sweet, though, and let me stay and explore with them.
This photo was a fun one. My friend pointed him out as we walked by and told me to take a photo of it. Without even looking through the viewfinder (I was hot and tired and had taken too many photos by that point), I snapped two images of him and kept walking. Never even slowed down. When I got to my computer to edit the images, it turned out to be the best one in there!
Photos are so much better when they tell stories, even if it was unintentional at the time.
I'd seen The Grand Canyon years ago when my dad and I did a road trip across the states in 2004. We rode a helicopter over it. We almost didn't because it was so expensive, but I'm glad my dad decided to go for it, anyway.
